How difficult is it to run your business

I am Egemen Tumturk, editor and creator of the blog "How difficult is it to run your business".

After witnessing how companies are complicating things, I decided to come up with this blog where professionals can come together and discuss how to run business in a simple way.

​

I am holding a B.Sc in industrial engineering from Université Galatasaray, followed by an MBA degree from Istanbul Bilgi University. After a long break to my education, I joined an executive program at Stanford GSB and completed my studies on Corporate Innovation in 2020.  I also had the honour to study disruptive strategies from Prof. Clayton Christensen at Harvard Business School prior to his passing in 2020.

 

I have worked in different enterprises from a variety of industries like HSBC Bank, Vestel Electronics, Vestel Shanghai, Vestel Digital, Kaercher GmbH and Bugaboo. In September 2020, I joined a premium Dutch e-bike brand, QWIC,  as COO, and member of the board, in charge of supply and customer operations.

My years of experience in business, and in life itself made me to think about my "Ikigai". I got a spark during an online program "Disruptive Strategy" organized by Harvard Business School. The discussions we had during the program, and the ideas created by participants from all around the world inspired me. Collective mind for innovation at Stanford University helped me to make my decision.  I decided to create this blog, to openly discuss why some companies win and why some cannot...
